Spring Colt: Cost $230.00
Players must be 15 - 18 yrs. Spring Colt is for players NOT PLAYING high school baseball. This league is unique to the Fox Valley area and is great for players who love baseball but don't have the time and interest to play high school baseball. It’s a 10-12 game season starting in early April, with 2 games per weekend, and a single elimination tournament ending the weekend before Memorial Day weekend. Individual or full team registrations welcome. IHSA baseball rules will apply.
Contact Colt@wascobaseball.com for full team details.
Summer Colt: Cost $230.00
Players must be 15 - 17 years by September 1st and are Freshman, Sophomore or Juniors in high school. Summer Colt starts in June (after the end of the high school baseball season) and ends by August. Wasco teams compete in the Fox River Valley Colt League with other recreational division teams in the Fox Valley. It's a 14-18 game season with games during the week (makeups scheduled for the weekend), where half of the games will be at home and the other half at opponents’ fields. Individual or full team registrations are welcome. IHSA baseball rules will apply.
If a player is within sixteen (16) months of the higher age league as of April 30th, the player is eligible to play-up. If the player’s birthdate occurs within four (4) months of the higher age league as of April 30th (by August 31st of the same year), this player does not need to attend the play-up tryout (see schedule below). If the player’s birthdate falls after four (4) months, but within sixteen (16) months of the higher age league as of April 30th (by August 31st of the following year), this player will need to attend and pass the play-up tryout. Regardless of their birthdate, all players with interest to play-up to the next higher league must select their interest during the on-line registration process.
Play-up tryouts will be held on March 4th at Elite Sports Training Center from 4pm until 7pm.
Example: For example, if a player with a birth date of July 1st is 8 years old on April 30th and they want to play Minors in the Spring (9-10 year-old league), they do NOT need to attend the play-up tryout. If a player with a birth date of July 1st is 7 years old on April 30th and they want to play Minors in the Spring, they DO need to attend the play-up tryout. For the Spring, the play-up tryout requirement will be waived if the player played-up the next higher league in the preceding Fall.
For the Instructional League, it is not considered a play-up from Instructional Red to Instructional Blue. Additionally, a player’s (under 8 years old) first year must be played in Red, but in subsequent years they can play in Red or Blue.
